May 2017

Méthode Cap Classique producers have until 20 July to submit their wines for this year’s Amorim Méthode Cap Classique Challenge, the only competition dedicated exclusively to MCC wines. Amorim Cork SA, which is sponsoring the event for the 16th consecutive year, is the convenor of this unique wine competition in conjunction with the MCC Producers Association.

Anthonij Rupert Wyne in the Franschhoek Wine Valley has perfected the art of producing wine with an uncompromising commitment to the environment accompanied by a singular dedication to innovation.  All this is personified in the estate’s Protea wine range of eight wines, created for immediate enjoyment but also with unique packaging that has been designed with the purpose of “upcycling” in mind.  In this manner extraordinary attractive features can be created in and around the home after the wine has been savoured.

As a partner to the South African wine industry, Amorim is elated at the great news about Vintage 2017. Despite the ongoing drought and hot, dry conditions, this year’s grape harvest is slightly larger than last year and consumers can look forward to exceptional wines from the 2017 vintage. And having tasted some of the young wines, we can attest to this.
